Oklahoma SB560 establishes that no turnpike project, route, or extension can be authorized unless a special election is held among landowners within a one-mile radius of the proposed route. The election must be conducted by publishing notice in a local newspaper and posting it in public places for at least 20 days. If more than four years pass between the vote and legislative authorization, a new election must be held. The bill also specifies voting rules for co-tenants and joint tenants. This act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
