Oklahoma SB549 modifies and expands offenses related to aiding suicide or an attempt at suicide, and updates the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

Oklahoma SB549 amends the Oklahoma Statutes to modify and expand the applicability of offenses related to aiding suicide or an attempt at suicide. It makes aiding suicide a felony punishable by a fine and imprisonment, and aiding an attempt at suicide a misdemeanor. The bill also updates the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, prohibiting unauthorized access to computers and computer systems, and making certain communications through an online platform a felony if intended to terrify, intimidate, or harass.
