The Oklahoma Community Health Worker Act creates a voluntary certification process for community health workers. The State Department of Health will issue certificates to qualified workers, who can serve as liaisons between health services and the community, identify resource gaps, and build individual and community capacity. The act also outlines criteria for granting, denying, suspending, and revoking certificates, and mandates the establishment of examination requirements, minimum qualifications, and fees. The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
