Oklahoma SB346 modifies criminal history record check requirements for school personnel.

Oklahoma SB346 amends the criminal history record check policy for school personnel. It allows temporary employment of prospective employees for up to 60 days pending national criminal history record check results. It exempts full-time teachers from needing a new check if they have one within the last five years and a letter from their previous district attesting to their good standing. Substitute teachers with five years of experience in the same district are also exempt. The bill declares an emergency and takes effect July 1, 2025.
