Oklahoma Taxpayer Protection Act establishes fund to protect citizens from unconstitutional federal tax sanctions.

The Oklahoma Taxpayer Protection Act creates a Federal Tax Fund to collect federal income tax withholdings and estimated tax payments. The fund is intended to protect citizens from unconstitutional federal tax sanctions. The act requires taxpayers to submit federal tax forms to the Oklahoma Tax Commission. The Tax Commission must review these filings and file certain forms with the Internal Revenue Service. The act also mandates that if federal sanctions are imposed, a simple majority vote of the Legislature will determine their constitutionality. The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
