Oklahoma SB216 extends driver licenses for certain inmates and requires mailing of driver licenses to specific individuals.

Oklahoma SB216 extends driver licenses for inmates in certain situations, including those in custody of another jurisdiction, inmates returning from an intermediate revocation facility, and those unable to return to the workforce upon release. The Department of Corrections is authorized to create rules and procedures to implement these provisions. The bill also requires the mailing of driver licenses to specific individuals and eliminates the need for payment of outstanding fees and fines during a six-month period to be eligible for a provisional license. Effective July 1, 2025.
