SB2094

Oklahoma SB2094 establishes the Firearm Preservation Act, prohibiting the destruction of firearms obtained by the state or political subdivisions.

Oklahoma SB2094, known as the Firearm Preservation Act, mandates that firearms acquired by the state or political subdivisions through various means cannot be destroyed or rendered inoperable. Instead, these firearms must be retained until lawfully disposed of. The act requires law enforcement agencies to auction these firearms to individuals eligible under state and federal law, with proceeds allocated for operational expenses, training, or other purposes. It also imposes fines on law enforcement agencies for violations, with proceeds deposited into the General Revenue Fund.
