Oklahoma SB2084 amends the Governmental Tort Claims Act to limit settlement awards for wrongful termination claims to an amount equal to two years of the employee's base salary. This applies to claims against public institutions of higher education within the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The limitation includes back pay, compensatory damages, and liquidated damages, but excludes retirement contributions and accrued unpaid wages or leave. The act does not apply to claims arising under federal law. The changes will take effect on November 1, 2026.
