SB2082

Oklahoma SB2082 prohibits institutional investors from owning more than 25 single-family homes in the state.

Oklahoma SB2082 defines "covered institutional investor" as any corporate structure with more than one member that acquires single-family dwellings for profit. It prohibits these investors from owning more than 25 such homes. The bill makes ownership voidable and prevents county clerks from filing conveyances without an affidavit. The Attorney General is authorized to enforce the law, create necessary forms, and levy penalties. Acquisitions made after the effective date of November 1, 2026, are unlawful. Investors who acquired homes before this date may keep, maintain, lease, or sell them.
