Oklahoma SB2031 requires meat products to be labeled with their country of origin when sold for retail consumption. The bill defines "country of origin" as the country where the animal was born, raised, and slaughtered. It also defines "meat" as any part of the carcass or product derived from cattle, goats, poultry, sheep, and swine that is sold for human consumption. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry is authorized to promulgate and enforce rules related to this labeling requirement. The act will become effective November 1, 2026.
