Chamber Passed·3/31/25

Oklahoma SB2 establishes setback requirements for wind energy facilities and outlines penalties for noncompliance.

Oklahoma SB2 amends setback requirements for wind energy facilities, stipulating that no wind energy facility may be constructed if the base of any tower is located at a distance of less than one and one-half nautical miles from the center line of any runway or one-quarter nautical mile from the nearest point of any residential dwelling or nonparticipating property. The bill also mandates that wind energy facility owners must submit an active Determination of No Hazard from the FAA and documentation that adverse impacts to the Department of Defense have been resolved.
