Oklahoma SB1960 prohibits municipalities, counties, and state agencies from considering certain characteristics in hiring and from promoting.

Oklahoma SB1960 prohibits municipalities, counties, and state agencies from giving differential treatment in hiring based on an applicant's race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or other immutable characteristics. It also prohibits these entities from hiring to achieve diversity, equity, or inclusion goals and from establishing positions promoting these goals. The bill declares an emergency, making it effective immediately upon passage and approval.
