SB187

Oklahoma SB187 provides access to counseling services for foster parents and certain children, effective July 1, 2025.

Oklahoma SB187 mandates that foster parents and children in a foster home, excluding foster children, have access to at least six hours annually of counseling services provided by licensed mental health providers contracted with the Department of Human Services. These services, limited to training in the Flash Technique, are optional and not subject to penalties or discrimination. The Department must inform foster parents about these services before or upon placement of a child. The act declares an emergency and becomes effective July 1, 2025.
