Oklahoma SB1808 broadens the scope of medicolegal investigations to include violent deaths, deaths under suspicious circumstances, and deaths related to disease. It mandates investigations for deaths unattended by a licensed physician, medically unexpected deaths during therapeutic procedures, deaths in custody, and deaths involving sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The bill requires medical examiners to document immunizations and emergency countermeasures administered to the deceased within 90 days before death and report cases to the SUID and SDY Case Registry.
