Int Text

Oklahoma SB1803 mandates law enforcement agencies to adopt and enforce written pursuit policies and training standards.

Oklahoma SB1803 amends the Governmental Tort Claims Act by requiring law enforcement agencies to adopt and enforce written pursuit policies. These policies must address pursuit decision-making, risk assessment, supervisory oversight, termination criteria, public safety considerations, and post-pursuit review. The Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training must establish certification standards, determine training hours, and may update these standards. The Council also audits compliance and imposes sanctions for noncompliance.
