Oklahoma SB1799 prohibits land application of sludge and compost materials from wastewater treatment plants and agricultural sources.

Oklahoma SB1799 prohibits the land application, sale, or distribution of sludge from wastewater treatment plants and compost materials derived from sludge. Exceptions include disposal at a solid waste landfill. The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality will enforce these provisions. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry will develop plans for PFAS removal and remediation. The bill also mandates a report on PFAS removal costs and recommendations for managing septage.
