SB1790

Oklahoma SB1790 creates the Protected Learning Environment Act, establishing a standardized discipline matrix for public schools.

Oklahoma SB1790, the Protected Learning Environment Act, mandates the State Department of Education to develop and publish a standardized discipline matrix for public schools. This matrix will outline clear expectations, consequences, and interventions for student behavior, ensuring consistency across districts. School districts must adopt and train staff on this matrix, and provide parents with access. Students committing three or more Tier 3 infractions in a semester face mandatory behavior conferences and potential placement in alternative education programs.
