SB1740

Oklahoma SB1740 creates the Anti-Perverse Incentive Act to regulate fines and fees assessed by state agencies.

Oklahoma SB1740, the Anti-Perverse Incentive Act, mandates that fines or fees assessed by state agencies must go through an appeals process if the individual or business believes the assessment was punitive or not aligned with the agency's mission. It prohibits fines or fees assessed for personal or political motivations by state agency employees or officials. Violators face a fine of up to $1,000 or the amount of the assessed fine. All fines and fees collected by state agencies must be deposited into the General Revenue Fund.
