SB1683

Oklahoma SB1683 preserves local authority over siting and installation of wireless telecommunications towers.

Oklahoma SB1683, known as the Local Telecommunications Control and Siting Act of 2026, preserves local authority to regulate the siting and installation of wireless telecommunications towers. The act ensures that zoning, permitting, and siting authority over these towers remains with the county or municipality having jurisdiction, except as required by federal law. It prohibits state agencies from adopting rules that supersede local control. The act also allows municipalities to review applications and impose reasonable fees to cover administrative costs.
