Oklahoma SB168 requires all iron, steel, and aluminum used in public works contracts exceeding $100,000 to be manufactured or produced in the United States. This applies to construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, improvement, or maintenance of public buildings or public works. Exceptions are allowed if U.S. materials are insufficient, quality is unsatisfactory, or costs increase by more than 25%. The State Purchasing Director can authorize exemptions and must allow public comment. Bidders must attest to understanding the U.S. requirement. The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
