Int Text

Oklahoma SB1522 provides immunity from civil liability for licensed dealers under certain firearm hold agreements, with exceptions for gross.

Oklahoma SB1522 defines a "firearm hold agreement" as a written or oral agreement between a firearm owner and a licensed dealer, where the dealer takes possession of the firearm and returns it according to the agreement terms. The bill grants immunity from civil liability to licensed dealers for actions arising from these agreements, except in cases of gross negligence, reckless conduct, or unlawful conduct by the dealer. The immunity also does not apply if the dealer knew the firearm owner intended to use the firearm unlawfully when retrieving it.
