SB1506 modifies the appointing authority of the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

SB1506 amends the Oklahoma Statutes to change the appointing authority of the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The Commissioner will now be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The bill also includes conforming language and sets an effective date of November 1, 2026.
