SB1480

Oklahoma SB1480 establishes guidelines for youth apprenticeship programs in secondary schools.

Oklahoma SB1480 amends existing laws to establish guidelines for youth apprenticeship programs in secondary schools. It requires technology center school districts to designate apprenticeship coordinators to facilitate student participation in apprenticeship, internship, and mentorship opportunities. These programs can be available to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and may fill elective course requirements. The bill also updates statutory language and clarifies that these programs do not place legal liability on the school's governing body.
