Oklahoma SB1430 amends the appointing authority of the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The Commissioner will now be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. This change also updates references in Oklahoma Statutes to reflect the new department name. The bill will become effective November 1, 2026.
