Oklahoma SB1422 mandates that boards of education in public school districts and governing bodies of public charter schools adopt policies allowing voluntary participation in prayer and reading of the Bible or other religious texts. The policy must include provisions ensuring that such activities do not substitute for instructional time and are not provided in the presence of those who have not consented. The Attorney General must provide advice and a model consent form upon request. The act becomes effective July 1, 2026, with an emergency clause allowing immediate implementation.
