Oklahoma SB1334 modifies the Strong Readers Act to adjust screening instruments and criteria for identifying students at risk of reading difficulties.

Oklahoma SB1334 amends the Strong Readers Act to change the number of screening instruments approved for identifying students at risk of reading difficulties. The State Board of Education will now approve no fewer than three screening instruments for use at the beginning, middle, and end of each school year. These instruments must assess phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, and align with the science of reading.
