Int Text

Oklahoma SB1306 prohibits insurers from modifying prescription drug coverage under certain conditions and provides for civil penalties.

Oklahoma SB1306 prohibits insurers from modifying prescription drug coverage by increasing premiums, co-payments, coinsurance, or deductibles, denying coverage, moving drugs to more restrictive categories, or replacing brand-name drugs with generics after qualification. Exceptions include situations where the FDA questions drug safety or the insured's practitioner continues to prescribe the drug. The Insurance Commissioner must promulgate rules to enforce these provisions, and the act becomes effective November 1, 2026.
