SB1228

Oklahoma SB1228 mandates Service Oklahoma to query the EVVE system for driver license applicants presenting birth certificates.

Oklahoma SB1228 requires Service Oklahoma to query the Electronic Verification of Vital Events (EVVE) system when an applicant for a driver license or state-issued identification card presents an original or certified birth certificate copy as proof of identity. This applies to new licenses, renewals, and applications for lost or destroyed licenses. The bill also mandates EVVE to provide a certain verification process under specific conditions and requires Service Oklahoma to promulgate certain rules. The act becomes effective November 1, 2026.
