The Oklahoma Safe Neighborhoods Act of 2026 allows property owners and triple net leaseholders to submit claims for compensation from municipalities if public nuisances reduce their property's fair market value. Eligible nuisances include illegal public camping, obstructing public thoroughfares, loitering, panhandling, public urination or defecation, public consumption of alcoholic beverages, possession or use of illegal substances, and shoplifting. Compensation is limited to documented expenses incurred to mitigate these nuisances.
