Oklahoma HJR1066 proposes an amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution to modify the approval process for salary increases for state legislators. Currently, if the Board on Legislative Compensation approves a salary increase for lawmakers, it takes effect immediately. This measure would require legislative approval for any increase over ten percent. The Board on Legislative Compensation would still set the compensation, but any increase exceeding ten percent would need a majority vote from both chambers of the Legislature.
