Oklahoma HJR1060 proposes an amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution to establish a homestead exemption for disabled firefighters, disabled police officers, disabled volunteer police officers, and their surviving spouses. This exemption applies to the full fair cash value of the homestead, effective January 1, 2027. The amendment also allows for the exemption to transfer to a new homestead if the original one is sold, provided the qualifying head of household or surviving spouse acquires another homestead.
