Oklahoma HJR1014 proposes a constitutional amendment to change judicial vacancy appointments.

Oklahoma HJR1014 proposes a constitutional amendment to modify the selection process for filling judicial vacancies in Oklahoma. The Governor would appoint qualified persons to fill vacancies, subject to confirmation by the Oklahoma State Senate. If the Governor does not act within a certain time, the Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court would make the appointment. The amendment would replace the Judicial Nominating Commission and establish a new process for judicial appointments.
