Int Text

Oklahoma HJR1006 proposes a constitutional amendment to freeze ad valorem tax liability during periods of high inflation.

Oklahoma HJR1006 proposes adding a new Section 8G to Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution to freeze the value of taxpayers' ad valorem tax liability if the consumer price index exceeds 2%. This freeze would take effect during the first assessment year after the CPI information becomes available. The Secretary of State would then refer this amendment to the people for approval or rejection.
