Oklahoma HJR1001 proposes an amendment to Section 8C of Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution. The amendment would limit increases in the fair cash value of homesteads for individual heads of household who are 65 years or older. The amendment would eliminate the income threshold for eligibility, requiring only that the individual head of household has occupied the property for ten years. The amendment would also remove the exception for absences from the homestead for up to 365 days during any ten-year period.
