Oklahoma HB4288 authorizes the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to establish a pilot program providing alternative education to students suspended out-of-school for more than fourteen days. The Department must design the program in accordance with alternative education program requirements. The bill allows students to continue the program after their suspension and directs school districts to adopt a plan for student reintegration into elective classes, extracurricular activities, and other school programs.
