HB3406

Oklahoma HB3406 allows county commissioners to declare extreme fire danger periods, with specific conditions for agricultural burning exemptions.

Oklahoma HB3406 modifies the conditions under which county commissioners can declare periods of extreme fire danger. The board of county commissioners can pass or revoke a resolution declaring extreme fire danger, effective for up to fourteen days. Agricultural producers can burn cropland, rangeland, forests, or pastures if specific weather conditions are met. The bill also outlines procedures for submitting a written prescribed burn plan to local fire departments and requires the placement of "Burn Ban" signs. Violators face misdemeanor charges, fines, and imprisonment.
