Oklahoma HB3327 increases the State Board of Education from seven to nine members. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction is appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Four members are appointed by the President Pro Tempore and three by the Speaker of the House, each from different congressional districts and the state at large. Members must have a high school diploma or equivalent and cannot serve on another board. Members serve four-year terms and can only be removed for cause.
