HB3067

Oklahoma HB3067 modifies the process for special elections on measures passed by the Legislature.

Oklahoma HB3067 amends the state's initiative and referendum process by allowing the Governor to call a special election to vote on measures passed by the Legislature. The bill specifies that if a measure is initiated by the people or a referendum is demanded, it must be submitted to the people for approval or rejection at the next regular election. The Governor has the discretion to call a special election or designate the mandatory primary election as a special election before the first Tuesday in November. The bill also modifies the powers of the Governor regarding special election dates.
