HB3053

Oklahoma HB3053 establishes the Oklahoma Elder Parole Eligibility Act, directing the Pardon and Parole Board to grant parole to eligible inmates.

Oklahoma HB3053 creates the Oklahoma Elder Parole Eligibility Act, which mandates the Pardon and Parole Board to grant parole to inmates meeting specific criteria. The Department of Corrections must verify that inmates have no serious disciplinary infractions in the past 36 months, have completed required programs, and have maintained compliance with institutional rules. Parole is mandatory upon verification unless the inmate falls under exclusions such as those serving sentences for which parole is prohibited by statute or posing a threat of imminent physical harm to others.
