Handle With Care Oklahoma program to aid children exposed to trauma.

The Handle With Care Oklahoma program aims to address unaddressed trauma in children by enhancing communication and partnerships between law enforcement, mental health services, and schools. The program allows law enforcement to notify the program when a child is exposed to traumatic events, enabling schools and mental health providers to offer immediate support. The Oklahoma State Department of Education will implement the program, providing model protocols and training to first responders. Local multi-disciplinary teams will be established to coordinate community services and interventions.
