HB2730

Revenue and taxation; interest rate computations; state tax liabilities; effective date.

Chamber Passed·2/25/26

Oklahoma HB2730 amends tax interest rates and clarifies their application.

Oklahoma HB2730 modifies the interest rates for delinquent tax payments and refunds. It sets a 20% annual interest rate for underpayments of estimated tax, calculated using Wall Street Prime. For refunds not paid within specified timeframes, interest is applied at the same rate as delinquent tax payments. The changes apply to delinquencies occurring after November 1, 2025, and to existing delinquent accounts as of that date. The new rates do not apply to refunds applied to prior year tax liabilities.
