Oklahoma HB2201 amends food establishment licensing requirements to include food establishments selling genetically engineered food. These establishments must post a clear and conspicuous notification that they sell genetically engineered food. The bill defines genetically engineered food as food containing genetic material modified in a laboratory using techniques not possible through conventional breeding or found in nature. The State Commissioner of Health is tasked with promulgating reasonable standards and rules for sanitation. The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
