Oklahoma HB1738 exempts public trust hospitals from certain transparency laws when entering joint ventures or acquiring interests in not-for-profit.

Oklahoma HB1738 exempts public trust hospitals from the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act and Oklahoma Open Records Act when they enter into joint ventures or acquire interests in not-for-profit entities to administer their mission. This exemption applies to proprietary information such as marketing plans, financial statements, trade secrets, research concepts, methods, or products. However, it does not cover budgetary information related to appropriations or the appropriations process. The act defines "public trust hospital" as any hospital created under specific sections of the Oklahoma Statutes.
