Oklahoma HB1478 amends the physical count of signatures for initiative and referendum to allow validation while signatures are being gathered.

Oklahoma HB1478 amends the physical count of signatures for initiative and referendum to allow validation while signatures are being gathered. The Secretary of State can now verify signatures during the collection process. The bill also specifies that the Secretary of State must verify signatures against public voter registration records and notify the Attorney General of any violations. The act becomes effective November 1, 2025.
