Oklahoma HB1396, known as the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit Act, prohibits private schools from requiring parents or guardians to participate in the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit Program as a condition of acceptance, enrollment, or student eligibility. The bill also bans certain tuition rate or fee increases for students whose parents or guardians receive an income tax credit through the program. The act declares an emergency and will be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
