Oklahoma HB1176 amends the definition of exploitation of an elderly person or disabled adult to include knowingly purchasing residential property at less than 70% of its actual market value. This includes entering into a purchase contract with an elderly or disabled adult and then selling the rights to another buyer. The bill also sets penalties for such exploitation, including up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for offenses involving less than $100,000. The changes become effective November 1, 2025.
