Introduced·2/3/25

Oklahoma HB1151 amends election dates and terms for school district board members.

Oklahoma HB1151 modifies the election dates and terms of office for school district board members. It sets the general election for board members on the second Tuesday in February each year, except when a Presidential Preferential Primary is held, in which case it is on the same day. If more than two candidates qualify, the top two vote-getters proceed to a general election. Terms for five-member boards are staggered, with one member elected every two years. For seven-member boards, terms are staggered with one member elected every two years, and one for a one-year term.
