Oklahoma HB1071 amends criminal procedure to provide automatic expungements for certain misdemeanor convictions. Effective November 1, 2025, nonviolent misdemeanor convictions will be automatically expunged if at least ten years have passed since the conviction, all fines and fees have been paid, and no new charges are pending. The bill also allows for automatic expungement under specific conditions, such as acquittal, deferred judgment completion, or being under 18 at the time of the offense. Expunged records are sealed to the public but remain accessible to law enforcement.
