North Carolina S998 allocates $10 million for affordable housing and $40 million for transitional housing.

North Carolina S998 transfers $10 million to the Housing Finance Agency for low-cost financing to build new affordable housing units and $40 million to the Department of Health and Human Services for its Transitions to Community Living program. Each agency may use up to 3% of these funds for program administration. The act becomes effective July 1, 2026.
