The BUMP Act

The BUMP Act mandates stillbirth prevention education and training for prenatal care providers in North Carolina.

The BUMP Act requires the Department of Health and Human Services to provide evidence-based educational materials on stillbirth prevention and urgent maternal and fetal warning signs during prenatal care. These materials must be available in English and Spanish, with additional languages as needed. The Department must also develop training for prenatal care providers on stillbirth prevention protocols, including fetal movement education, infection screening, and management of risk factors.
